approval a further vote of the Finance Committee of $6000 for the construction

launch with the view

of converting

of a 11.1 steamer into a floating engine as

was

proposed at the time when

authority was asked for purchase of

a new

Engine. N. 1 Engine is very

-heavy and cumbrous and is practically

useless except

which shape it will render good

Lordship, on this subject, to the enclosed

copy of a letter from the Superintendent of the Fire Brigade.

I have not provided for

this expenditure in the Eestimates of

1859 as I contemplated getting it
